Leon Brinkley, ESB
Leon is manager of the Testing & Quality Competence Centre in ESB’s IT Solutions. Leon has been involved in ESB’s IT Projects over the past 16 years, both at home and abroad, with a four year stint in Pakistan between 1991 and 1995 and Egypt between 1995 and 1999.
More recently Leon has helped define ESB’s IT testing strategy. Modifying and applying the strategy for the Market Opening IT Programme, the largest ever IT programme undertaken by ESB.

Susan Windsor is Managing Director for her own consulting business (WMHL Consulting Limited) Until recently, Susan managed the Testing & Security Services practice within IBM Business Consulting Services and represented the local geography within the Global Test Organisation. Susan has more than 25 years experience in IT service delivery and for the last 9 years has specifically focused on testing.
Summary:
After many years of buying, and trying to use test automation tools for functional testing, we surely have to finally admit that our industry has totally failed to realise the predicted benefits. A case study is presented from Lloyds TSB Offshore on their experiences of using one of the new Test Automation Frameworks when the deadline was set in stone and automation played a huge part in being able to meet that deadline.
