Richard Thompson
Richard Thompson has been LIT's testing manager for over 5 years and has worked on 80+ testing projects in that time for various departments of their parent company in the USA. To date he has testing applications developed in (C++, Java, ASP, Lotus Notes, J2EE, PHP, Citrix, Microsoft Office, Visual Basic). His job is to develop testing solutions for projects within LIT with an emphasis on testing automation, performance testing and reporting.
Prior to LIT he worked for ESA (European Space Agency) as a testing lead on some of their mission critical software. Before that he worked as a laser physicist on the Isle of Man. His primary degree is in laser physics.

He spoke on the end to end testing methodology that Liberty have been using on recent projects and walked people through a case study of the benefits of test automation & testing best practice on a couple of specific projects. There are a number of new technologies available to projects to assist and enhance software testing and he discussed a couple of the open source tools are that now available.
